Wildflowers Devlog: Week 02

Wildflowers Devlog: Week 02

Introduction:

Hello! It’s me, Guilherme Neves again! Welcome to the second week of development (actually not second week but shii).

Before keep going with the Devlog, let me say one thing, I don’t want to sound dramatic but all the team have another job beside be part of Magic Trails, unfortunately we don’t make money with the company, so like almost every single Indie dev, we work on the project on our free time

And I'm saying that because some weeks, like this one, we don’t have much upgrades, but you know, “even small progress is progress”.

So what do we have new for this week:

🎨 Art  - Guilherme "Atari Boy" Neves

I was not really happy with the first result of the art, the city wasn’t really clean and the style was not exactly what I was looking for.

The feeling i’m looking for in this game is “fun” “fantasy”, a mix with some kind of cartoon/comic style, so I made some small changes in the colors and in some arts, now i’m kind of happy with the result

Maybe I will change something again in the future? Maybe, but I need to progress with the art, and the result for now is something I enjoy

Old Version

New Version

Basicly some color changes for something more "Happy", more Alive, cleaner mountains and also changed the trees.

Now looking for that i'm thinking about to change the "sand" too, the sand still with a lot of details, but I will think about that later

Beside that, we are having a "Unity Problem" and what that means is, well I was making the scene on unity with my tileset and everytime I open the unity, it crashes :'

We still don't know how to fix it, but I blame Thadeu for use Unity >:(

🕹️ Gameplay  - Thadeu Alonso

Hey! This week I've been working on the map/area system. It's still in progress but the idea is to have separated areas where the player can move freely and different maps that has some transitions. Next week I'll have some cool gifs to show so keep in tune
