Wildflowers Devlog: Week 03

Wildflowers Devlog: Week 03

Introduction:

Hello! It’s me, Guilherme "Atari Boy" Neves again!

If you saw our last Devlog, maybe you remember we had a problem using unity, for some reason it was crashing in my computer every time I tried to edit the tileset

BUT

we found a solution to the problem!  unfortunately the solution was not to uninstall unity and use another engine  , but we found out a free tilemap editor and game design tool: Spritefusion Logo

To avoid any mistakes i'm going to copy the description from their website, but check them page to know better: "What is Sprite Fusion?

Sprite Fusion is a free tilemap editor and game design tool. It allows you to design 2D maps for your games, and export them to Unity or Godot or any game engine."

Here is just a print of how this program looks like

Now talking about news in art: First I made the mockup of the seccond map, things I still want to work on:

  • Sand road - The sand road looks like the old style tileset, I need to make it less "dirth"
  • Add details - Add and remove some small details I think would be necessarry

One thing I wanna talk about here is: The Shadows

Maybe you notice, maybe you not, but the shadow color will change from one map to another, this is something I will be working in every map, the idea is to make a "mood" for the character, for the background etc

Beside that, another thing i've been working on is the Character Sprite!

🕹️ Gameplay  - Thadeu Alonso

Hey players, this was a busy week for me. I never mentioned here but I got a newborn daughter that is requiring my constant attention and time so its being a little hard to work on Wildflowers.... but things are happening. So next week I hope I can bring cool stuff to show regarding the camera and map.
